Workshop on Bridging the Scales in Glasses Düsseldorf, Germany, July 18-20, 2012

In July 2012 a workshop on 'Bridging the Scales in Glasses' will be held at the University of Düsseldorf. This workshop is a sequel to previous meetings in Wolfersdorf organised by the AK 4 'Non-crystalline and partially-crystalline structures' of the German Society of Crystallography (DGK).

The workshop will be on the structure and dynamics of structural glasses with a special focus on the microscopic mechanisms of macroscopic processes such as diffusive transport, fracture, shear-banding, and phase separation.

Scientists from physics, chemistry and engineering are invited to submit an abstract to horbach@thphy.uni-duesseldorf.de. The workshop fee for regular participants is 50 EUR and can be payed in cash at the conference.

The workshop on 'Bridging the Scales in Glasses' will take place in about two months at the University of Duesseldorf. The deadline for submission of abstracts is extended to June 1, 2012.
