Arrival by plane: Düsseldorf Airport is one of the biggest European airports. You will find good connections to the central station. There are several possibilities to go. If you are at the terminals you can take the tram S11 (to Bergisch-Gladbach). Another possibility is the connection by sky train to the station “Düsseldorf Flughafen”. There you have the chance to go by tram S1 (to Solingen) and/or trains RE 1 (to Aachen), RE 3 (to Düsseldorf Central Station) or RE 5 (to Koblenz). After having arrived at the station you have the opportunity to go directly to the University. Therefore you should take the underground no. U79 (to Düsseldorf Universität Ost) which will leave every 10 - 20 minutes below the Central Station. You may also take the tram no. 707 (to Düsseldorf Universität Ost) which leaves in front of the Central Station. It takes about 10 minutes to go by underground, 20 minutes to go by tram. You have to step out of the underground or the tram at their last stop, "Universität Ost". Having left the tram you must turn left and walk some minutes. After having passed a slight hill you must turn left. Just enter the building (25.12) at the main entrance and pass it straight towards the second glass door.

You can go to the University with the bus lines 735, 827, 835, 836. If you catch the lines 735 and 827 you can get out of the bus at the stops “Universität Mitte”, “Universität Süd”. I would recommend to get out at “Universität Mitte”. There, you will just have to pass a slight hill, pass the library at your right and the small Heinrich-Heine monument at your left. A little bit further, around the corner of the library, you can see building 25.02. Please, enter at the main entrance. Pass it straight toward the second glass door.
By car
from east:
If you try to get to the University from eastern directions you can get here from the Hildener Kreuz (A 3 / A 46) via the motorway junction Düsseldorf-Süd (A 46). Leave the A46 in the tunnel (exit Zentrum/Universität). At the first light signaling the Universitätsstraße starts. This street lies around the whole campus. If you see a small lake on your left (at the moment you will also see a huge building lot) you are almost there. Please, take the next parking on your left. There is also a parking deck, which offers free parking (please, look also at the map). You enter the back entrance of the building.
By car from west:
If you try to get tot he University from western directions, the A 46 and A 57 will cross at the motorway junction “Neuss Süd”. Take the exit “Bilk/Zentrum/Hafen/Benrath” behind the bridge over the Rhein (Fleher Brücke). Then, take the exit on your right „Benrath/Universität“ in direction of “Benrath”.
