Postdoc scholarship to perform research on hydrodynamics of microswimmers in a nematic liquid crystal
Research topic:
To perform theoretical and numerical investigation of the behavior of self-propelled active chiral microswimmers in a nematic liquid crystal.
Funding:
via Haushaltsmittel and overheads of Dr. A. Daddi-Moussa-Ider.
Duration of position:
1.04.2021 - 30.06.2021
Qualifications:
PhD degree in physics or applied math, previous postdoctoral research experience (at least 2 years), strong computational and theoretical skills, experience in computer simulations, basic knowledge in fluid mechanics, in particular in low-Reynolds-number hydrodynamics and Stokes flow.

To perform theoretical and numerical investigations of the dynamics of anisotropic self-propelled active particles, in particular vibrated granules with a close connection to in-house experiments.

Qualifications:
PhD degree in physics, strong computational and theoretical skills, experience in computer simulations, basic knowledge in statistical mechanics, in particular in the physics of active matter and granules.
